Good birmingham restaurant this friday?

Hi, I'm in Birmingham, UK, thisa Fri and Sat for a friends birthday night out. Staying centrally at holiday inn and going out on Hurst St. Looking for place for a nice evening meal centrally before I join the boozing party. It's been 5 years since I moved from brum so not sure where to go. Any ideas? I don't want to go near broad st. Thanks
