Problem with my 4gb xbox 360 kinect please help?

I just got a 4gb xbox 360 kinect which means i do not have a hard drive so this cannot be a hard drive issue. It will start up with the swirly thing and won't go past the xbox logo at the beginning, it fails to load the dashboard and i can't figure out the reason this might happen, i tried everything I unplugged it left it out for a few mins. and plugged it back in.. it didn't work. i tried syncing it.. that also didn't work, i called customer support and they couldn't figure out what the problem was, i was just wondering if anyone might know what is wrong with it before i send it back. please post any advice that might help. thank you.
