i am new to this so this may be a long story...i made good friends with my neighbour over the past 10 months (call her Faye) in an apt building where me and my husband are the superintendents. Alcoholic family members?

My husband and I both had alcohol parents growing up. We promised ourselves we would never get drunk in front of out kids or allow them to be around it. The problem is...my sister in law and her husband are heavy drinkers. They think they are not alcoholics because they function well aka they have good jobs. I've never seen them falling down drunk but they get very moody when they don't drink. They have kids of their own and my brother in law yells and cusses at them all of the time. Good Acne Treatments?

Well ever since i was 12, i have been having many breakouts on my face. Especially in the area between my eyebrows. Its usually on my forehead, nose, and sometimes my upper lip. My doctor only gave me this wash to use to clean out my pores, but not something that can treat it and make it go away. My mom has been popping them every while ( with a needle and using a blackhead extractor) it works and its painful, BUT she can only do certain ones at once and than, they come back in a few weeks in different parts of my face. How can I get sleep with new piercings?

I got my ears pierced Sunday afternoon and I haven't slept since Saturday night. I'm beyond exhausted. I'm so tired, I'm tempted to just take the studs out and have the holes close up. Should I be worried about a heart attack or stroke?

Well around 6 this morning i woke up and had really sharp pain under my left breast in the top of the rib. It hurt when I inhaled or moved, so i went to the ER. They said it sounded like it possibly could be a blood clot which can lead to heart attack, so they gave me an EKG and that was normal. Then they wanted to draw blood to check and see if it's a blood clot or not but i freaked out and refused to let them, not because im afraid of needles but because I'm afraid of bad news. I'm also 21, and ate mac and cheese and 2 twix icecream bars before i went to bad, so maybe it was just gas? the pain i was having went away when i was in the hospital but now im freaking out thinking "what if i DID have a blood clot...should i be worrying???

Tips for A Surprise Bonfire Party?

Hey, so I was hoping to just get a few tips, in case I've missed anything. For my boyfriend's birthday, I am having a bonfire out at my farm. Why don't auto makers make a gas Gauge with a Numeral Digital read out rather than just lines?

We all know that our cars have a basic gas gauge that has F for Full,line for 3/4, Half, 1/4, and E for Empty. Why don't we has a gas gauge that is a Digital Number that reads as follows? 13 Gallons 12.5, 12, 11.5, and so on. At least this way you know exactly how many gallons your car really has in it rather than relying on a needle and lines that can be inaccurate and break or get stuck. Ok I know there are hundreds of questions like mine on here, but for some my story sounds different in that i remember parts of the night so vividly while completely blacking out on other parts. Firstly let me say that of course I know as an adult I take responsibility for my actions including this incidence where I drank too much. I admit when I go out drinking I do drink alot, but I've never had problems with memory until that night.I'm 23 by the way. Ok so the night went like this. I was at a friends place and we had some pre-drinks before we headed out to the club., I drank a couple of glasses of wine and skulled another bottle with my friend while in the cab on the way to the club. We went in to the club had another two double vodkas, it was around 10pm and bam i wake up in the morning next to a some unknown dude in his bed. And i know what you're thinking right now, this girl is going to use booze as an excuse for a bad lay which shes ashamed off. In my life I've only ever had 2 one night stands including this one. And I've never felt much shame in admiting I've had them cos hey it's fun. Anyway when I woke up I felt really disorientated and to be honest I thought it was kinda funny, kind of like the hangover movie all i could think of was WTF????? because there was some guys arm around me. Then I had flashes of what happened last night come bak to me. I remembered falling down on the dancefloor and hitting my *** pretty hard. I remember red drinks. i remember giggling as I came in to his house, with my friend and him trying to quieten us down cos his mum was sleeping. (yes he still lived with his mum he was young maybe 20). Then I remember lying down on his bed in his room, well i remember having sex with him and i know 100% certainty that i consented. What to do about my roomate in college?!?

Ok, so I'm going into my sophomore year in college and I'm rooming with my "friend". The thing is, she's only 18 but LOVES drinking/partying, even though she doesn't look like a party girl at all. And nobody wants to invite her to parties (she tags along with me). She has very high tolerance to alcohol, and her main mission is "to get wasted". This July I'm turning 21, so now she tells me " you're gonna be my alcohol provider". There's no freaking way that I'm going to buy her booze so that she'll get drunk, because this year is going be hard for me and I have a lot of commitments (job, clubs, applying for study abroad, etc.). How can I get her off my head? I can't switch roomates, but I refuse to be taken advantage of. Plus, she's really annoying. Everyday it's something different, but yet it's all the same. Always having to worry, always having intense anxiety, depression, fear, and anger that life has to always be this way, that it's impossible to see it ever getting better. I'm 17, and my father has just consistently, constantly gotten worse. He's meaner, more violent, extremely hateful, and ive honestly been convinced that he is the devil living on earth. I never had a childhood, what little bit of childish joy I had was torn apart everytime he'd have a psychotic blowout of screaming at the top of his alcoholic, hateful lungs. I've always been responsible, and extremely careful in everything I do. He's always been irresponsible and impulsive, and would never, ever allow someone to not let him get his way. He only thinks about himself, and doesn't care about anyone else, at all. If I say I have a sore throat or something, he'll only care about himself, and say, yeah, I've had a scratchy throat all day, and go on and on and on. Honestly, that's just the tip of the iceberg, but to make it a little shorter, ive learned he's very much a narcissist, and he's got a heavy dose of hubris in him, thinking he can do no wrong. I've never, ever gotten an apology out of him, neither has my mother, (who is my best friend, and I am super close with, thank God, or I would have gone out of my mind a long time ago.) he just blames everything, EVERYTHING on us. No matter how irrelevant it is, he thinks it's our fault, all the time. And puts everything to extremes, telling is to get out of our own house, and saying anything he can to hurt us. Accusing, threatening, breaking down any little piece of hope we have, and I don't know what to do anymore. We don't even have a car, so we can't get away. He sold the parts for the car for booze. I have had shoulder pain for the last 3 years?

I went to see my GP who referred me to physio I had a bit of improvement but went back with the same problem 3 months later,my GP prescribed ibuprofen with the same results I persevered with the pain until I went to see my GP again this March she would have referred me back to physio but I told her I wanted to get to the bottom of the cause of the pain.I was sent for a chest x ray in April(2011) it came back showing inconsistencies I was referred to chest clinic at my local hospital who sent me for CT,PET & MRI scans Pulmonary function breathing tests,Bronchoscopy & CT scan needle biopsy of the Lung last week I was given a diagnosis of lung cancer & the consultant talked about having an op to remove part of my right lung but they wanted to wait for the results of the MRI scan which took place last Wednesday,yesterday(Tues)I attended chest clinic with my husband & was given the results of the scan apparently I have cancer in my R shoulder,Adrenal glands & top of my R leg (which they`re not too bothered about at the moment ) because I have cancer in more than 1 place I can`t have the op I am to start with Chemo next Monday my question is does anyone think I have a case for negligence with my GP for not acting sooner.

I've had this freind since we were in middle school were like brothers. Well the other night he hit me because I was acting drunk and stupid and pushed him over the edge he was drinking too. That got me thinking. Now I know I have a problem and I need help but does my closest freind have the right to punch me just because he feels insecure? I honestly feel like if those other people weren't there he would of handled it differently. Is he wrong for hitting me? I'm not a mental health pro but I do have substantial experience in this area so let me give you some educated layman's perspective on this. I think the fundamental issue is; is he going to drink, or is he going to be abstain from alcohol. I've seen some people change on this when they realize an important relationship is at stake. About AA and counselors, there is presently some big issues about the viability of these things, especially because of the religious content of AA and most counselors insisting their clients go to AA. A result is the development of several effective alternatives to AA that many who find AA objectionable can do well with. The biggest one is called SOS (Secular Organizations For Sobriety). Another is called Lifering, another is called Smart Recovery. They are all good things that often prove effective when AA is not. Google those things so you'll have some more resources to work from next time you talk to him. If he won't straighten out, then by all means - get on with your life. Sometimes it takes losing a relationship for people such as this to turn their life around. Good Luck Hindusufi

Does anyone have experience with an implanted morphine pump for chronic pain?

After 13 years of chronic pain, my body cannot handle oral narcotics anymore. I keep getting sick in my gastrointestinal track - poor motility all the way to an ileus with everything in between. Have had total work-up from GI MD. Everything is fine, but it was felt all my issues were due to narcotics. I don't abuse the narcotics - I don't understand why people like to do them. So my pain MD and surgeon have decided I probably need a morphine pump. I understand it means less drugs in my system and I may even have better pain control. Never am I pain free with oral narcotics. But the part I don't like is the drug is refilled by having a needle go through my abdomen into the pump every 1-3 months and having surgery every 5 years or so to change the battery. Anyone out there with long term experience with a morphine pump?

The only thing really standing in their way is senseless and arbitrary "poverty". This "poverty" is not even true poverty, but is a result of the choice to do drugs, sell drugs, booze it up, beat up the kids for no reason, and live for violence and death by whatever "parents" these children happen to be stuck with. But the real question is, what in our culture would lead these people to choose a life of crime? I believe in compassion, and there is a reason some of our prison programs (but not enough of them) have wisely chosen to focus on "rehabilitation" rather than punishment. What is the reason why this "culture of death" exists? Why do millions of people have to inherit nothing but trouble? And what is no secret is that minorities suffer the most in the land where "all men are created equal". African Americans, immigrants, and gays are obvious examples. Even women in general are mistreated in too many cases. And the South is on average poorer than other regions.

Your shoulder would be a good place, however if you don't want it to show when you wear your dresses or gowns, that may not be the best place. If you want, the top of your wrist is a good place (not the bottom part of the wrist below the palm of your hand because one of your main veins is located there and that could be risky). It is going to hurt, but that's with anything that has to do with a needle in your skin. As for treating the area after you get it done, I'm sure the person who does the tattoo will tell you instructions on that.

We were not married when we got pregnant. We later after much thought and consideration decided to get married in a civil ceremony. Since the birth we have been at each others throats. Although I say this it is NOT OK to pierce any other part of the body with a gun. I have gotten 2 lobes done. One with the gun and one without. The gun piercing does not hurt. It feels like a quick pinch. The needle hurts far more and is a lot slower. A lobe piercing takes 6-8 weeks to heal. And is by far the easiest piercing to clean. While you are in the shower take anti-bacterial soap and gentally rub it onto the piercing site. Do not twist your piercing. Do not remove your piercing for 3-5 weeks.

I believe that I have discovered a worm hole, but how can I prove it?

It is about a millimeter across, how far down it goes is anyone's guess. I stuck a needle in the ground to see if I could find the bottom but I just keeps going. I inherited an old Sears Kenmore Zig Zag sewing machine Model 1802 recently. It was my mom's and it is a very beloved and cherished item. It is one of the only things that was given to me after my mom passed away. It hasn't worked in many years, and I would love to have the chance to use it again as I did when I was young. Blood pressure cuff on arm the little thing on ur finger they will monitor your heart. They put meds through an IV and tell u to count down from 10 u will fall asleep looking at them watching u. After that they do there thing pulling ur teeth. If ur oxygen goes low they just crank up the oxygen on the machine because u will be on oxygen. U wont remember anything u wont wake up until they wake u up. When u wake up u will be extremely tired wondering what the hell happened. But its really not that bad. Trust me. You can ask the anesthesiologist all these questions hos job is to make u comfortable answering your questions as well as sedate you. Oh and when I had my teeth pulled and they sedated me I felt really jot and my chest got kind of tight and I felt like ants were biting me. I started to panic and they could see that they asked me what was wrong and I told them and they assured me it was ok and gave me some more meds and the symptoms went away. A nurse took my blood without my say so.?

I was wondering if it is Illegal for a nurse to take my blood without my say so? I was forced to go to the hospital because I had a very very bad migraine. well i only ever had one cavity and had to get it filled like id say 2 months ago. btw i am a 17 year old female. i was so freaking scared out of my mind you dont understand. i went in there shaking. they probably would never give you laughing gas for a filling but they do numb you up with novacaine. this doesnt hurt much its only a tiny pinch :) but i have to say when they drill in the tooth its EXTREEEEEMELY cold. it was really uncomfortable for me because of how cold it was. but the actual filling doesnt hurt. actually none of it hurts. just expect a really cold sensation when they are using the drill. its nothing to worry about, and im a big baby with pain :P good luck!

I don't understand this, please explain . Why is it that when you go to a nice rich suburb or a rich trendy area of a big city, that the people are so much better looking than people that grow up in farm towns for example? These good looking people from the rich areas look so good. But then you go to a farm town and the women are fat and they have blisters on their hands and so forth. Its pretty disgusting to be honest. Also alot of them are missing teeth. LOL I don't understand why its so hard to find good looking women in rural America. Fine needle biopsy pathology showed aggressive cancer... had thy. removed after surgery report showed benign..?

I do not understand how this could happen... I am thrilled it is not cancer however I never would have acted as quickly as the two surgeons suggested (I did have second opinion for surgery) but did not get second for pathology and I am afraid that was a mistake...based on the pathology report I made a decision that to remove the entire thyroid... If I knew it was benign I would have only had half taken out.. The wrong decision based on the after surgery fact that there was no cancer. Sorry, but I feel like I have been cheated out of making the right decision for me because of it...

I took a needle and poked my ingrown hair and white stuff came out what does it mean?

Okay, So i had a bump on my vagina. and i got it like a day or two after shaving so i figured it was an ingrown hair because it looked like one. Could I be pregnant or is it just my cycle?

Ok for the past 2-2 1/2 weeks now my breaast have been sore but not to where i couldnt touch them and ive been having a chalky white discharge no odor to it. I am drinking a bottle of wine every friday, saturday and sunday. It's usually wine or champagne but sometimes it's other kind of alcohol such as alize, nuvo, tequila rose and hpnotiq and sometimes I drink a mickeys sized bottle of liqour but this isn't done often like 2-3 times a month. Does anyone have experience with an implanted morphine pump for chronic pain?

After 13 years of chronic pain, my body cannot handle oral narcotics anymore. I keep getting sick in my gastrointestinal track - poor motility all the way to an ileus with everything in between. Have had total work-up from GI MD. Everything is fine, but it was felt all my issues were due to narcotics. I don't abuse the narcotics - I don't understand why people like to do them. So my pain MD and surgeon have decided I probably need a morphine pump. I understand it means less drugs in my system and I may even have better pain control. Never am I pain free with oral narcotics. But the part I don't like is the drug is refilled by having a needle go through my abdomen into the pump every 1-3 months and having surgery every 5 years or so to change the battery. Anyone out there with long term experience with a morphine pump?

Problem with my 4gb xbox 360 kinect please help?

I just got a 4gb xbox 360 kinect which means i do not have a hard drive so this cannot be a hard drive issue. It will start up with the swirly thing and won't go past the xbox logo at the beginning, it fails to load the dashboard and i can't figure out the reason this might happen, i tried everything I unplugged it left it out for a few mins. and plugged it back in.. it didn't work. i tried syncing it.. that also didn't work, i called customer support and they couldn't figure out what the problem was, i was just wondering if anyone might know what is wrong with it before i send it back. please post any advice that might help. thank you.

Legal Roommate Help, Kind of long, but I really need help.?

I live with 2 other roommates, both of which are brothers. They are the most inconsiderate people I've ever met. There are 3 rooms plus a living space/kitchen. The living space/kitchen is all of our responsibility. But they have kept the apartment soo trashed that I have literally been unable to use it, even the kitchen. It's counters are completely full of there crap...dirty plates, booze, rotting food, etc. I never go out into the living space unless to leave the apartment cuz it is just that bad. Well over the year, so much damage has occurred because of them and their partying and wild lifestyle, including carpet stains, scuffs on walls, holes in the walls from their own personal couch banging against it, so much stuff to list. However, the lease term is coming to an end. And we are all legally responsible for the living space/kitchen. That space is all of our responsibility, but I refuse to have to clean up after them and keep the apartment nice while they destroy it. They literally have no respect for me or consideration for my being here. I am worried about the damages that they've caused and I will probably have to end up paying for. Is there anything I can do in case we have to go to civil court over the damages? Should I document holes, scuffs, the kitchen, etc.? Or would it do me no good? What are some steps I might take?

Tattoo healing question???

I got a tattoo last sunday (the 17th) so it's been like 11 days......It's on the side/top of my foot of flowers but it still feels rough/leathery! Only one flower is starting to peel but I can still 'feel' it underneath.....the other ones still feel and the black swirly design surrounding the flowers I can still feel too. My other tattoo I got on the lower right side of my back peeled within like 5 days, and then it was smooth! Why does my foot one still feel rough? I have been caring for it properly like my other one. Is it just because of the location?? Will this go away in time? Maybe foot tattoos just take longer to fully heal and be smooth??? Does the pain of losing a "fetus" ever ease?

On April 10th I went to the emergency room with severe bleeding. I was 9 weeks pregnant. After two sonograms I was told by the doctor that my baby was ectopic and they believed that it was in my falopian tube. I woke up 4 hours later from surgery (which was only supposed to take 45 minutes) and the back of my right hand where the needle was, was covered in blood. It turned out that the baby wasn't in my tubes after all, it was actually on one of my ovaries. When they lifted my ovary I began to bleed heavily and they had to give me a blood transfusion. Since the baby was on my ovary they had to do a bikini cut to remove it. Everyday I either unintentionally look at or feel that scar and it is like a knife to the heart. Every Saturday (when the week I was pregnant would change), I always think, I would be 17 weeks along now, or I would be 19 weeks now. And it kills me to see babies. It doesn't matter if I see them in real life, or even on TV, it hurts so bad. What makes it worse is that I have a 3 year old who has a genetic disease, he is now a normal little boy, but he had to go through chemotherapy and a blood transplant at Duke University in NC (I live in MI) and for a week we almost lost him. What they did wasn't a cure, but a treatment, so the damage that has been done to his bones and his hearing loss will never go away. Don't get me wrong, I love my son, and I am so greatful that I didn't lose him, but I think that one of my children God gave a horrible disease to, and the other one he took away from me. It hurts so bad, I know that it has only been less than three months, but will the pain of the loss ever ease? I want to get pregnant again, but I'm scared. I don't want to go through that again, and the doctor said that since I have had one ectopic pregnancy I am more likely to have another one. I just don't want it to feel like a knife in the heart every time i think about it.
